Red Deer Marlborough Sounds Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jan-2013
Brilliant, near full straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is fine, restrained and elegantly proportioned with lifted aromas of gooseberries, esters and chalky minerals. Dry to taste and elegant and slender in size, this has moderately concentrated flavours of gooseberries, fresh herbs and minerals. The mouthfeel is balanced and harmonious with integrated fruit, textures and acidity, and carries through to a moderately sustained finish with gooseberry notes. This is an elegant and balanced Sauvignon Blanc with stylish, restrained gooseberry flavours. Serve with antipasto and first courses over the next 2 years. Fruit hand-picked and WBP, stainless-steel fermented to 13.5% alc. and 2 g/L rs, the wine spending 6 months on lees. 16.5+/20 Jan 2013 RRP $20.00
