Red Deer Marlborough Sounds Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jan-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with some depth, paler on edge. The nose is full, broad and voluminous in presence, but restrained in expression. Soft, stalky-stemmy aromas sit alongside nettle and mineral notes along with a little earth and bean development. Dry to taste, light gooseberry grass and herb flavours and crisp acidity reflect the cool-spectrum fruit. The palate is linear with a little texture, but softens on the finish. Some toast and bean notes emerge. This is a cooler Sauvignon Blanc that is beginning to show some secondary development. Serve with Mediterranean-styled salads and vegetables over the next 12 months. Contract fruit included due to low crops on Waitaria Estate. Fruit WBP and tank fermented to 13.5% alc. and 2 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees for 6 months. 15.5/20 Jan 2013 RRP $20.00
