Red Deer Marlborough Sounds Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Nov-2013
Hand-picked Pinot Gris, WBP and 40% barrel-fermented to 12.54% alc. and 6.7 g/L RS, the wine spending 6 months in oak on lees. Bright, very pale straw colour with a faint pink blush. Fresh clean and lifted aromatic fruit aromas of white and exotic florals, along with stonefruits, honeysuckle and spices feature on the bouquet with fermentation esters. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, this is slender in proportion with positive, up-front, white stonefruit and esters-lifted floral flavours. A fine-textured phenolic line and refreshing, balanced acidity supports the fruit and carries the flavours to a dry, textural finish with zesty acidity. This is an elegant, up-front and lively dry Pinot Gris with fine, drying textures. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 2-3 years. 16.5+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $17.00
