Red Deer Marlborough Sounds Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jan-2013
Fruit hand-picked, WBP and fermented with 10% in barrel to 13.5% alc. and 5 g/L rs, the wine aged 6 months on lees. Bright, light, golden-hued straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is full, broad and even with gently expressed aromas of stonefruits and hints of honeysuckle and nuts. Off-dry to taste, light, and up-front flavours of apricots and tropical fruits are mixed with honeysuckle elements. The palate has some sweetness and richness, weight and soft acidity which leads to a moderately sustained, dry finish. This is a light, honied Pinot Gris with some sweetness. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 18 months. 15.5-/20 Jan 2013 RRP $20.00
