Red Deer Marlborough Sounds Gewurztraminer 2013

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Nov-2013
Very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. This has a fresh, bright and subtly rich bouquet of rose-petal and exotic florals, Turkish Delight and musky herbs that grow in intensity, revealing ginger nuances. Dry to taste, fresh, lively and intense flavours of Turkish Delight, florals and musk show on a soft-textured, rounded palate with a near-unctuous mouthfeel. Fresh, lacy acidity underlines the fruit and provides good energy and tension, leading to a very long, lingering finish with musk and ginger nuances. This is a fresh, bright and lively dry Gewurztraminer that has an attractively rich mouthfeel. Match with fine Asian and Middle Eastern dishes over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit fermented to 12.87% alc. and 2 g/L rs, the wine aged 6 months on lees. 18.0-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $20.00
