Red Deer Marlborough Sounds Gewurztraminer 2011

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jan-2013
Hand-picked fruit fermented to 12.5% alc. and 7 g/L rs, the wine aged 6 months on lees. Bright straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a slender and tight bouquet with fresh cool-spectrum rose-petal florals, musky herb and creaming soda notes. A touch of reduction is present. Off-dry to taste, clean, light flavours of rose-petals and peppery musk are supported by balance, lively acidity and a little alcohol drive, which adds a little texture to the palate line. Perfumed nuances of florals and spice unfold and merge with subtle herb notes on a bright, clean finish with some length. This is a light Gewurztraminer with rose-petal, musk and peppery flavours. Serve with poultry and pork over the next 18 months. 15.5/20 Jan 2013 RRP $25.00
