Rapaura Springs ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Aug-2012
Fruit from the ‘Dillons Point River Bound Estate' site fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3 g/L rs, the wine undergoing batonnage and 10% in wood. Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues, near colourless on edge. The bouquet is very fresh with an amalgam of gooseberries, pungent passionfruit, fresh herbs and lifted fermentation esters that blossoms, becoming voluminous. Dry to taste, fresh, lively flavours of ripe gooseberries, passionfruit and nettles are lifted by esters. The fruit depth is supported by a fine textural thread forming a core and palate line. Soft acidity enhances the mouthfilling nature of the wine and carries through to a finely textured, firm, dry finish. A very youthful, flavoursome Sauvignon Blanc showing esters lift and fine dry textures. Match with creamy sauce seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2+ years. 1,000 cases made. 17.5/20 Aug 2012 RRP $19.99
