Fruit from 4 sites in the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 3.3 g/L RS. 2,700 cases made. Full straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a very densely concentrated nose of pungent passionfruit with layers of sweet tropical fruits and lifted esters unfolding. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, a solid and dense core of rich and luscious passionfruit flavours fills the mouth. There is a degree of stylish restraint, the acidity soft and discreet. The mouthfeel is rounded and with excellent presence, and has a robust linearity. Nuances of tropical fruits and minerals emerge, adding detail, and are carried to a long, sustained finish. This is a fulsome, soft-textured and subtly luscious Sauvignon Blanc with dense passionfruit flavours.
