Rapaura Springs Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Sep-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is rich and packed with aromas of ripe, pungent passionfruit and gooseberry fruits, harmoniously entwined with grassy and mouthwatering minerally elements and a delicate fresh fermentation esters lift. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, rich, lush and up-front flavours of passionfruit and tropical fruits are balanced by fine, dry textures. The mouthfeel is lively and zesty with crisp, lacy acidity providing good vibrancy to the fruit depth. The pungent fruit flavours are carried to a moderately long, bright finish with some underlying grip. This is a rich, concentrated and lively Sauvignon Blanc with pungent passionfruit flavours and a dry finish. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Rapaura, Wairau and Waihopi sub-regions cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Sep 2014 RRP $18.00
