Rapaura Springs Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Sep-2013
Fruit from two sites in the Lower Wairau, given a cold soak and fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged in new and seasoned French oak barriques. Moderately deep ruby-red colour, pale on rim. Light, fresh aromas of red berry and cherry fruit are detailed by some oak spice and resinous elements, and build to show good intensity. Light-bodied, softly fresh and light flavours of dark red berry fruit feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is bright from crisp, racy acidity and gentle supple tannins enable accessibility. The palate is youthful, primary and pretty, with the flavours flowing to a fresh, rounded finish. This is a soft, light and accessible Pinot Noir with fresh, pretty fruit flavours. Serve with risotto, pasta and poultry over the next 3+ years. 16.5/20 Sep 2013 RRP $21.99
