Rapaura Springs Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Apr-2012
Fruit from the Southern Valleys given a cold soak and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., he wine aged in new and seasoned French oak barriques for 9 months. Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues on edge. This has fresh, intense aromas of dark cherry fruit with hints of raspberry liqueur, liquorice and herbs, showing good depth. Medium-bodied and elegantly proportioned, this has softly concentrated flavours of black cherries, raspberries and liquorice framed within a soft-textured palate showing discrete acidity and moderate extraction. The oaking is well-handled. The wine is soft, supple and mellow in mouthfeel, and finishes with fresh, clean-fruited flavours. This is a soft-textured and supple, fruit Pinot Noir to match with pasta, pizza, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. 16.5/20 Apr 2012 RRP $24.95
