Rapaura Springs Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Aug-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with gentle aromas of pears and exotic florals, yellow stonefruits and notes of honeysuckle, along with some fresh fermentation esters. Some mineral nuances emerge with aeration, and the aromatics build in intensity. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a concentrated core of exotic florals, white and yellow stonefruits with pears and honeysuckle, lifted by ferment esters. The mouthfeel is crisp and fresh with racy acidity, and the wine flows along a fine-textured phenolic line with presence and body. The wine carries to a light, textured, dry, aromatic finish. This is an aromatic, dryish Pinot Gris with exotic florals, pears, honeysuckle and fermentation esters with a racy mouthfeel and good body. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 3 years. Fruit predominantly from the Awatere Valley, with some Wairau fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 8 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Aug 2017 RRP $16.99
