Rapaura Springs Gravel Lane Vineyard Botrytised Riesling 2018, Marlborough

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Aug-2021
Brilliant, yellow-gold with depth, lighter on edge. The nose is full and enticing with aromas of dried apricot, orange marmalade, unfolding lime zest, ginger and honey, overlay a hint of VA added positive interest. Full-bodied, the palate is rich with bright aromas of dried apricot, orange marmalade and salted lime, flowing parallel with honey and gingery spice. The mouthfeel is luxurious, smooth with a runny honey texture; excellent acidity with a hint of sea salt provides a vibrant drive and is not cloying, carries the flavours to a long, lingering finish. Match with chicken liver parfait and crème brûlée over the next 6-8 years. The fruit was sourced from Omaka, hand-selected harvest, gently crushed, soaked then crushed again, cold settling, racked to oak barrels for inoculated fermentation. Fermented to 10.5% alc, 233 g/l RS. 19/20 pts (95 pts) Aug 2021 RRP $34.90 (375ml bottle)
