Rapaura Springs ‘Classic’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2018

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Sep-2018
Bright, even, straw-yellow colour with some depth. The nose is fresh and full with open and lively aromas of bright yellow stonefruits entwined with exotic florals, and suggestions of herbs and passionfruit, along with lifted pears. This has depth and is quite accessible. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is up-front, open and accessible with flavours of tropical fruits, exotic florals, pears and honeysuckle. The flavours form a concentrated core with good presence to the mouthfeel, and the wine flows along a smooth line with good acidity, carrying the flavours to a sustained finish. This is an up-front, openly accessible dryish Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral, pear and honeysuckle flavours on a smooth-flowing palate with good weight. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3 years. Marlborough fruit, 65% from Blind River, Awatere and 35% Wairau, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 8.0 g/L RS. 18.5/20 Sep 2018 RRP $13.99
