R & A Pfaffl ‘Zeiseneck’ Gruner Veltliner 2011

Gruner Veltliner from Austria
Review Date : 07-Feb-2013
Weinviertel DAC, vines 38 y.o., stainless-steel fermented to 12.0% alc. and 3.4 g/L rs. Bright, pale straw yellow colour with lemon hues. This has a rich, honied bouquet with an amalgam of herbs, spices and white pepper, the aromatics showing some density. Dry to taste and full in presence in the mouth, this has good presence with soft, rounded textures. A fine phenolic line with textures marks the palate, balanced with the fruit richness and a little sugar. Pepper and honeysuckle notes on the finish. This has some grip, but good line and density. 18.0-/20 Feb 2013
