Quinta dos Roques Dao 2009

Blended Red from Portugal
Review Date : 12-Dec-2012
50% Touriga Nacional with Jaen, and Alfrrocheiro, fermented to 13.5% alc. and aged 6 months in new oak. Very dark, black-red colour with a dark heart. The nose is full and densely packed with ripe, earthy, iron infused black fruit aromas revealing dark herbs and savoury game. Medium-full bodied, sweet, lush fruit flavours feature, with dark red berry and lush red floral notes that fill the palate with breadth and openness. This has succulence backed by a fine-grained, concentrated core with savoury earthiness, resulting in a palate drive wine some elegance. The flavours linger with sweetness and soft accessibility. This is an approachable, sweet red fruited red to match most poultry, pork or lamb over the next 5-7 years. 17.5/20 Dec 2012 RRP $29.90
