Quinta das Maias Dao Branco 2011

Blended White from Portugal
Review Date : 09-Dec-2012
A blend of Malvasia Finca, Encruzado, Verdelho and Cercial fermented to 13.5% alc. Pale straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is very elegant and refined with pure white floral, citrus and delicate herbal aromas, the nose quite penetrating with its purity and clarity. Dry to taste, and elegantly proportioned, the flavours of citrus fruits, honeysuckle florals, nuts and herbs are expressed with a lacy finesse. The acidity is beautifully refined and provides a classical linearity to the palate. Fine detailed nuances and a underlying tension support the tight, stylish palate, the wine finishing with good length and purity, along with minerally nuances. A refined and elegant dry white showing its high altitude provenance to serve with seafood and first courses. 18.0+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $23.80
