Quest Farm ‘White Silk’ Central Otago Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 30-May-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with some green hues, pale on rim. The nose is soft and aromatic with exotic floral, yellow stonefruit, confectionary and delicate herbal notes, along with lifted fermentation esters elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses a good core of flavours with white and yellow stonefruits, exotic flowers and lifted fermentation esters. The mouthfeel is soft-textured and the heart of flavours flows smoothly. Some acid crispness emerges along with some alcoholic power, carrying the wine to a dry-textured, light, lifted finish. This is a tightly bound, dry, aromatic and lifted Pinot Gris with floral, esters and confectionary notes, and a well-driven palate. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from a lakeside Lowburn vineyard, hand-picked, WBP and fermented, half with indigenous yeasts to 13.5% alc. and dryness, the wine aged on lees with batonnage. 16.0+/20 May 2016RRP $21.00
