Light, garnet-hued red colour with some depth and lighter brick hues on the edge. This has an elegant and moderately concentrated bouquet with aromas of soft, savoury red berry fruits entwined with dried herbs, earth, lifted cedar elements and subtle, complexing mushroom elements. The intensity of the aromatics build with aeration. Medium-bodied and well-proportioned, , the flavours of savoury red berry fruits intermingle with dried herbs, game, earth and mushrooms, forming a tight and concentrated core. The fruit is underlined by light, drying tannin structure and soft acidity, lending a dry, driven line. The wine carries to a long, lingering, complex and savoury finish of mushrooms and cedar. This is an elegantly concentrated Pinot Noir with complex, savoury secondary flavours, a tight core and dry line. Match with muhroom dishes and casseroles over the next 3+ years. A blend of up to 8 clones, the fruit was indigenous yeast fermented with up to 10% whole clusters to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 15 months in 2-4 y.o. French oak barrels. 16.5/20 May 2016 RRP $26.00
