Quartz Reef ‘Bendigo’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 01-Aug-2012
Clones 10/5, 5, 115, 667, 777 and Abel indigenous yeast fermented with a small portion of whole bunches to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 13 months in 30% new French oak. Dark ruby-red colour, this is tight with steel, minerally notes to the dark cherry aromatics. There are some underlying thyme herb aromas showing. Medium-full bodied, this is elegantly proportioned and still tightly bound. Yet the fruit has a lusciousness and the palate real drive from the acidity. Very fine-grained tannins are a feature and carry the palate line to a moderately long finish. This needs some time to open up. 18.5/20 Jul 2012 RRP $47.99
