Quartz Reef Bendigo Central Otago Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 06-Apr-2014
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale edged. This has a very fine, softly intense and penetrating bouquet of pure yellow stonefruits with a very fine thread of flinty lees and minerally detail, the aromatics revealing exotic floral and pear nuances in the glass. Dry to taste, the mouthfeel is fine-featured and smooth in texture, with a good core of white and yellow stonefruits, pears and florals. Fresh, lively and lacy acidity enhances the fruit richness and liveliness, carrying the flavours with drive and linearity to a sustained finish with stonefruit and pear elements. This is an elegantly concentrated, dry Pinot Gris with fine and lively fruitiness. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc. and 3.8 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees 8 months. Certified Demeter biodynamic. 18.5-/20 Apr 2014 RRP $28.00
