Bright, full straw-yellow colour with a light golden hue, paler on rim. The nose is elegantly concentrated with deep aromas of apricots, exotic tropical fruits, citrus fruits and ginger, revealing complexing funky lees, nutty oak and creamy barrel-ferment notes in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, elegantly concentrated flavours of apricots, citrus fruits and ginger are complexed by spicy and nutty oak with vanilla and creamy barrel elements. The mouthfeel is poised with piquant acidity and the wine follows a fine-textured line. This has some alcohol drive that carries the wine to a clean, crisp, lingering finish with orange, apricot and ginger notes. This is an elegant lively and refreshing Viognier with exotic fruit flavours and subtle creamy textures. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from a single Bridge Pa site, indigenous yeast fermented in barriques with full solids to 13.0% alc. and dryness, the wine aged on lees undergoing batonnage. 18.5-/20 Apr 2015 RRP $26.99
