Quarter Acre Hawke’s Bay Syrah Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Oct-2014
Hand-picked multi-clone Syrah fruit from Ngatarawa Road given overnight skin contact and indigenous yeast fermented to 12.0% alc. and dryness, the wine aged months on lees. Even, pale strawberry colour with slight purple hues. The nose is light with delicate, fresh strawberry fruit and lifted floral notes, refined in expression, unfolding spice, herb and mouthwatering mineral elements. Dry to taste and light-bodied, the flavours of strawberries and soft red berry fruits form a delicate core. The wine follows a fine thread of phenolics and the mouthfeel is enlivened by crisp, refreshing acidity. Subtle nuances of raspberry confectionary, spices and florals are carried on a tight, slender, lingering finish. This is a light and delicate, crisp rosé with soft red berry and floral flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with canapes over the next 18 months to 2 years. 16.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $26.99
