Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra fermented to 14.2% alc., the wine undergoing oak aging. Very full, black-red colour, near impenetrable, with ruby hues on edge. This has a finely proportioned and well-concentrated bouquet of ripe blackcurrant and blackberry fruit intermixed with mint, earth and dusty, spicy oak. A little funky meatiness unfolds in the glass. Full-bodied, tightly bound and concentrated sweet fruit flavours of blackcurrants, earth and dark herbs are underlined by dusty, powdery tannins. The palate has great drive and fine textures, with a soft acid background, showcasing power with elegance. The flavours reveal gamey interest as the wine flows to a long, sustained finish. This is a fine-textured, concentrated and powerful, blackcurranty Cabernet Sauvignon with dusty, meaty nuances.
