Quarisa Johnny Q “Q Series” Petite Sirah 2017, NSW

Petite Sirah from Australia - NSW
Review Date : 30-Jun-2021
Deep, inky ruby-purple, slightly lighter purple rim. The bouquet is gently full, nuances of blackberries, boysenberries melded with vanilla and barrel spices. Medium-full bodied, aromas of blackberries, boysenberries are bright with freshness, vanillin, and integrated oak spices linger on the finish. The wine is straightforward and generous with plush berry fruit; excellent acidity draws a smooth line to a sustained finish. Supple, grainy textured tannin lightly coated the palate. This is a berry-fruited Petite Sirah with vibrant acidity and a fine tannin grip. Match with barbeque meat and venison sausages over the next 3-4 years. Fermented in a mixture of vessels, a portion underwent oak during fermentation; the remaining went to oak at a later stage, 14.7% alc. 18/20 pts (90 pts) June 2021 RRP $20
