Quarisa ‘Enchanted Tree’ South Australia Shiraz 2009

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 30-Oct-2013
Very full, near impenetrable black-red colour with ruby hues on rim. Restrained fruit aromas of dark raspberries and berry fruits form an elegantly proportioned nose. Subtle notes of black ink and eucalypt emerge in the glass. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is a little shy, revealing moderately rich flavours of raspberries, plums, and some eucalypt notes. The mouthfeel is gently textured and rounded from soft acidity, the extraction balanced and supple. The palate flows with good line to a straightforward, dry, plummy finish. This is an elegant and restrained Shiraz with raspberry and eucalypt fruitiness and a fine, grainy, dry mouthfeel. Match with pasta and barbecued foods over the next 4-5+ years. Shiraz from Padthaway and Langhorne Creek fermented to 14.35% alc. 17.5/20 Oct 2013 RRP $19.99
