Quarisa ‘Caravan’ South Eastern Australia Durif 2012

Other Red from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 30-Oct-2013
100% Durif (Petite Sirah) fermented to 14.54% alc., the wine undergoing oak aging. Very dark, densely saturated black-red colour. The bouquet is fresh and vibrantly rich with ripe primary fruited aromas of plums and spicy, earthy, black berries at the core with fragrant raspberry and boysenberries intermingling with minerals and oak. Full-bodied, fulsome and deep, sweetly rich fruit flavours of ripe dark raspberries plums and boysenberries show with decadence. The fruit is driven and supported by generous alcohol warmth and fine-grained tannins, providing power. The fruit lusciousness is enhanced by integral fine acidity and the flavours flow with vitality to a long succulent finish of plums and boysenberries. This is a full-bodied, lusciously rich and powerful Durif with excellent structure. Serve with casseroles and slow-cooked red meats over the next 7-9+ years. 19.0/20 Oct 2013 RRP $19.99
