Pyramid Valley Sauvignon+ 2022, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-May-2023
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is fresh with softness, penetrating aromas of gooseberry, citrus, cucumber, fresh herbs and minerals. Medium-bodied, aromas of lemon, lime and gooseberry melded with elderflower, chervil and minerals. The flavour is fresh with the support of vibrant acidity, which is presented with softness, entwined with the smooth-flowing, slightly oily mouthfeel. This Sauvignon and Pinot Gris blend is harmonious with good energy and freshness, lingering with a hint of savoury mineral complexity. Match with pan-fried sole and pork rillette over the next 3-4 years. Fruit sourced predominantly from Churton vineyards in Marlborough and a touch of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris from North Canterbury. 13.5% alc. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) May 2023 RRP $30
