Bright, pale straw yellow, even colour throughout. This has full, striking aromas of gunflint and roasted cashew melded with stonefruit, lemon curd and zest. Medium-bodied, aromas of lemon curd and zest intermixed with apricot, cashew and gunflint. Smooth and creamy on the entry, stony minerals texture adorned, flows with lively acidity and lends a long, spicy finish. This creamy Chardonnay shows an excellent balance of fruit and tension, featuring flinty complexity. Match with roasted chicken and pan-fried swordfish over the next 5 years. Fruit from Waipara, fermented in French oak barrels with wild yeasts to 14% alc, aged 18 months before bottling, unfined & unfiltered. Vegan friendly. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Apr 2023 RRP $40
