Unfiltered, slightly hazy pale-yellow, faintly lighter edged. The nose is softly full and elegant, nuances of well-proportioned almonds, stonefruit, citrus, yellow florals, butter and barrel flint. Medium-full bodied, vibrant and bright aromas of lemon, peach, nectarine layered with butter popcorn, raw almonds, spices lingering to a long flavoursome finish. Lively acidity thread flows effortlessly with good energy, light buttery roundness, fine phenolic added texture, mealy and persistent. This is a fresh, multi-layered and punchy Chardonnay with bright acidity and persistence. Match with tiger prawns and Dukkah over the next 5 years. Fruit from organic conversion vineyards in Waipara, 40% clone 5, 60% 30-year-old Mendoza clone, fermented with indigenous yeast and bacteria, unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur additions. 13.5% alc.
