Moderately deep dusty crimson, lighter on edge. This has a grounding energy on the bouquet, with deep aromas of cherry, wild raspberry, sous bois, balsamic, hibiscus and spice. Medium-bodied, cherry and wild raspberry aromas melded with cacao nibs, sous bois, hibiscus, nutmeg and cinnamon. The aromatics are pretty, with good energy, yet savoury, with strength, lengthening on an earthy palate, unfolding minerals and spice. Match with game fowls and black truffle pasta over the next 5-7 years. Handpicked, hand sorted, fully destemmed and fermented with yeast from vineyard to 13.5% alc, on skins for 21-27 days. Aged in French wooden cuves and barrels for 18 months. Unfined, unfiltered. Biodynamic certified. 19/20 pts (95 pts) Apr 2023 RRP $125
