A blend of 45% Merlot, 34% Malbec, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah, hand picked and fermented to 14.1% alc., the wine aged 22 months in French and American oak barriques. Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with a suggestion of purple, lighter on edge. The nose is softly concentrated with integrated aromas of earthy plums melded with red and blackcurrants, and dark herb with a little stalk and leafiness. The fruit is fresh, with minty nuances, lifted by some cedary oak. Medium-full bodied, the palate features a soft, lush, juicy core of blackcurrant and redcurrant fruit, along with dark red plum notes. The fruit is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity lending a brightness and vitality. Soft, fine-grained tannins provide a balancing dryness and supple texture, and the wine follows a good vibrant line carrying to a cedary and curranty flavoured finish. This is a soft, sweet-fruited Merlot and Malbec-based red with fresh curranty and plummy flavours and fine, dry textures.
