Prunotto ‘Fiulot’ Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2012

Barbera from Italy - Piedmont
Review Date : 08-Oct-2014
Light ruby-red with some garnet hues, youthful purple at the core. This has a full and voluminous nose of savoury red and cooked plum fruit aromas intermixed with game and earthy interest. Some perfumed and fragrant floral elements unfold in the glass. Medium to medium full bodied, the palate features bright and juicy flavours of raspberries and savoury plums, enlivened by brisk and racy acidity. A delicate layering of earthiness is present. The tannins are soft and supple, providing subtle textural support, and along with the acidity leads to a vibrant, refreshing finish. A lively Barbera with sweet and savoury fruit flavours, and subtle structure. 3-4+ years. 100% Barbera from the ‘Costamiole’ vineyard, Agliano, fermented to 13.5% alc., 20% of the wine aged in 77 hL casks. 18.0-/20 Oct 2014 RRP $24.95
