Pressing Matters Coal River Valley Tasmania Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from Australia - Tasmania
Review Date : 30-Dec-2014
Dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a full and densely packed nose of ripe dark red berry fruits with currant and plum aromas interwoven with an array of herbs, spices, oak cedar and notes of eucalypt. Some hints of shrivel and port show. Medium-full bodied, soft, ripe, plump and fleshy plum flavours are enriched by jam and fruit pastille notes. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded, but with good depth, and the palate is supported by soft, supple tannins. Lowish acidity enhances the softness, and the wine is carried by the fruit sweetness. Coal River Valley, clones 114, 115, D2V5, MV6 and D5V12, ungrafted and planted 4,200 vines/ha, indigenous yeast fermented to 13.9% alc., the wine aged in oak up to 20% new. 17.5/20 Dec 2014 RRP AU$49.00
