Pol Roger Champagne ‘Pure Brut’ NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 29-Nov-2011
A blend of equal proportions of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier with no dosage. Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon hues and a fine, moderately persistent bead. This has a full, intense and bold nose of bready autolysis with secondary toastiness and integrated aldehyde elements. Very dry, crisp and racy in acidity on attack, this has a firm and intensely concentrated palate with full flavours of toast and yeastiness, quite developed in character. Though full-bodied, the wine has roundness and is no way austere for its dryness. This has developed with interest and balance, and will find favour with ‘English palates'. 18.0-/20 Nov 2011
