Poggio Anima ‘Gabriel’ Pecorino Terre di Chieti IGT 2017

Other White from Italy - Other
Review Date : 29-Nov-2018
Bright yellow colour with pale golden hues and some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly fresh with delicate aromas of white stonefruits and subtle notes of white florals and fresh herbs, and suggestions of nuts. This is refreshingly mouthwatering and shows good aromatic penetration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has gently rich, near unctuous flavours of white stonefruits and white florals, with hints of herbs and honeysuckle, with nutty elements. The mouthfeel is bright and refreshing with crisp acidity balancing the rich textures. The wine carries with good energy to a long, lingering aromatic finish. This is a crisp and refreshing, but rich and sweet-fruited dry Pecorino with aromatic flavours of stonefruits, florals and honeysuckle with nutty nuances. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 2+ years. 100% Pecorino fruit from Abruzzo, vines 22 y.o., indigenous yeast fermented in tank with some skin contact to 12.5% alc. the wine aged 6 months on lees. 1,800 cases made. 18.0-/20 Nov 2018 RRP $22.00
