Pittnauer ‘Fuchsenfeld’ Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from Austria
Review Date : 16-Mar-2015
Deep garnet-red colour with some black hues, some bricking on rim. The nose is full and voluminous with aromas of savoury red berry fruits with red floral lift, entwined with dried herb and undergrowth, revealing some resiny, seasoned oak and then mocha-like toasty nuances with aeration. Fullish bodied, the palate is fulsome, rounded and openly accessible with flavours of savoury red berry fruits and red florals entwined with layers of savoury game and dried herbs. The palate features a good core with supple tannin extraction and soft, gentle acidity contributing to depth and density. Some alcoholic power drives the palate to a soft, savoury finish. This is a soft, rich, savoury Pinot Noir that is accessible now and over the next 4+ years. Burgenland. 17.0+/20 13.5% alc. Mar 2015 RRP $62.00
