Pierre Peters ‘Extra Brut’ Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 18-Nov-2016
Bright, light golden-hued yellow colour, paler edged, with very persistent, fine bead. This has a very refined and tightly bound bouquet with aromas of white stonefruits and white florals, packed with an intense amalgam of bready yeast autolysis with savoury nutty notes and subtle aldehyde elements, unfolding fresh minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is finely proportioned with elegantly concentrated flavours of white stonefruits and florals, harmoniously layered with savoury bready autolysis and integrated nutty, aldehyde flavours. The mouthfeel is gently refreshing with soft acidity, delicate textures and creamy effervescence providing a seamless line leading to a very long, finish of white florals, stonefruits and citrus fruit. This is a beautifully refined and elegant Blanc de Blancs Champagne with flavours of white stonefruits and florals melded with layers of bready autolysis and complexing nutty notes. Serve as an aperitif over the next 3-4 years. 100% Chardonnay from the grand cru villages of Les Mesnil sur Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant, from the 2012 vintage fermented to 12.0% alc. with 2.0 g/L dosage, the wine disgorged in November 2015. 19.0-/20 Nov 2016 RRP $109.99
