Pierre Naigeon Gevrey-Chambertin 1er ‘Lavaux St Jacques’ ‘Vieilles Vignes’ 2006

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 28-Aug-2012
Based in Gevrey-Chambertin. Deepish, dark garnet red with mahogany, this is densely packed with aromas of savoury, ripe, brown fruits with game, and slightly lifted. A medium-full bodied wine, this is firm and solid on palate with a tight core, but reasonable supple and approachable with rounded textures. This has restrained, fine tannins, but elevated acidity, providing a degree of elegant slipperiness. Mushroomy on finish. 6-8 years. 17.5+/20 Aug 2012
