Pied Stilt Nelson Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 23-Sep-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues and a suggestion of blush, light on rim. The nose is firm with well-concentrated aromas of white and yellow stonefruits along with savoury nutty elements, unfolding nuances of herbs and spices in the glass. Dry to taste, the palate features a deep and rounded core of white and yellow stonefruits melded with savoury nutty and bitter stonefruit kernel hints. The fruit has good richness and soft acidity enhances the weight and presence of the mouthfeel. The wine follows a positive line that carries through to a light, dry finish with nutty and musky notes. This is a well-concentrated, dry Pinot Gris with yellow stonefruit and nutty flavours. Match with most white meat dishes over the next 3+ years. Fruit from 1.5 ha of vines, warm-fermented to 14.0% alc. and 3.1 g/L RS, the wine aged several months on lees. 16.5+/20 Sep 2015 RRP $19.99
