Pied Stilt Nelson Albarino 2015

Other White from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 16-Feb-2016
Fruit from first crop vines, the wine given light oaking in seasoned barrels, and fermented to 12.1% alc. and 4.9 g/L RS. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, near colourless on the rim. The nose is softly full and gently voluminous with aromas of white and yellow florals, citrus blossom and attractive honeysuckle, spice and musk notes. Dry to taste and light-bodied, the flavours of white stonefruits, elderflower and honeysuckle are light, but up-front and form a soft, and subtly packed core. The palate possesses a light phenolic texture and line and has soft background acidity lending drive and carrying the wine to a light, lingering finish with delicate floral notes. This is a light, soft, dry Albarino with gentle textural and acid structure. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and poultry over the next 2 years. 15.5+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $22.00
