Piccini Chianti DOCG 2015

Blended Red from Italy - Tuscany
Review Date : 28-Jun-2017
Full, dark, deep ruby-red with black hues and lighter garnet on the rim. The nose is soft, light and harmoniously melded with aromas of sweetly ripe blackberry, black cherry and raspberry fruit with notes of boysenberries, underlined by some savoury earth and cedary oak-like elements. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses sweetly ripe and vibrant fruit flavours of dark raspberries along with black cherries and nuances of boysenberries. The mouthfeel is lively and fresh with light, grainy tannin structure and fresh, integrated acidity. The wine has good energy and vitality and carries to a concentrated, lingering finish with taut blackberry and raspberry fruit nuances. This is a fresh, vibrant, lively Chianti with bright dark raspberry, cherry and blackberry fruit on a grainy, lively palate. Match with antipasto, pasta and barbecued fare over the next 2-3 years. A blend of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Ciliegiolo and 5% Canaiolo, fermented to 13.5% alc. Winemaker: Antonella Conti. 16.5+/20 Jun 2017 RRP $17.50
