Young vine estate fruit across three soil types, fermented and macerated in large French oak tanks to 13.5% alc. Certified BioGro organic. Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on rim. The nose is softly fresh and up-front with aromas of bright dark red berry fruits along with fresh herbs and some minerally reduction. Medium-bodied, the dark red berry fruits show good sweetness and richness, with a subtle herbal underlay. The reduction is integral with the fruit flavours adding a layer of earthiness. Soft tannin extraction and mouthfeel supports the flavours which have good energy and drive, leading to a good finish combining fruit sweetness and texture. This is an up-front, sweet-fruited and soft-textured Pinot Noir with some herb and reductive elements. Serve with pork and beef, and Mediterranean fare over the next 4+ years. 16.5+/20 Apri 2014 RRP $24.95
