Peter Yealands ‘Reserve’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Sep-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very fresh and tightly bound with fine and subtle intensity of passionfruit, fresh herb, cut grass and nettle aromas, unveiling white floral and thirst-quenching mineral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of passionfruit, cut grass and herbs are gently sweet and succulent. The mouthfeel is soft-textured with a fine line and integrated, ripe acidity. The wine flows smoothly with energy and drive, carrying to a light, lingering, juicy passionfruited and herb-nuanced finish. This is a gently rich and succulent, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with a soft, smooth mouthfeel and line. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the coastal ‘Seaview’ and inland ‘Willow Flat’ vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 3.6 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Oct 2016 RRP $17.95
