Peter Yealands ‘Premium Selection’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-May-2011
Fruit from 5 blocks from the ‘Seaview' vineyard in the Awatere, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 5 g/L rs. Pale straw-yellow with pale green hues on edge, this has a full, rich and appealing nose of aromatic pear fruit and youthful esters from fermentation and youth. Off-dry to taste, this has rich, luscious pear drop fruit flavours lifted with esters. The wine is full, soft and with good forward fruit, and with sufficient acidity for balance and freshness, finishing lightly. Serve as an aperitif and with all Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years.  16.5+/20  May 2011  RRP $18.50
