Peter Yealands Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Sep-2016
Bright, light straw-yelloe colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and elegantly presented with taut aromas of pungent passionfruit entwined with fresh herbs, nettles and cut grass, unfolding green capsicum notes. The aromatics are refreshing and mouthwatering. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has up-front flavours of pungent passionfruit along with nettles, cut grass and fresh herbs, and nuances of thirst-quenching minerals. The mouthfeel is fruit-focussed with soft, underlying phenolic textures and integrated, fresh, lacy acidity. The wine carries to a dry, thirst-quenching finish with soft textures and fresh passionfruit and nettle notes. This is a fresh, up-front Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, nettle and cut grass flavours and a dry, soft-textured mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Seaview’ vineyard in the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.7 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Oct 2016 RRP $14.95
