Peter Yealands Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Sep-2016
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues, very pale edged. This has a very fresh nose with tightly bound, slender aromas of exotic florals with white and yellow stonefruits, unfolding suggestions of honeysuckle and herbal nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant with a fine core of white stonefruits intermixed with subtly lifted rose-petal and exotic floral notes. The mouthfeel is rounded with soft textured and integrated, gentle acidity. The palate has a little underlying alcoholic drive that carries the wine to a light, lingering finish of florals and minerals. This is an elegant, focussed, dry Pinot Gris with subtle notes of exotic florals, a soft mouthfeel with some alcohol drive. Match with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese fare over the next 2+ years. Pinot Gris fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.0 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Oct 2016 RRP $14.95
