Peter Yealands ‘Lighter in Alcohol’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Dec-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour near colourless on edge. The nose is light with good intensity of gooseberry fruit aromas intermixed with white stonefruits, citrus, grass and chalky mineral notes. Dry to taste and light-bodied, the palate is tight in expression with driven flavours of gooseberries that follow a fine-textured line. The acidity is soft and mouth-watering and carries the palate to a gentle, clean and easy finish. This is a light and soft, straightforward and gooseberry fruited Sauvignon Blanc. Serve as an aperitif, seafood or goats cheese over the next 18 months. Four parcels of fruit from the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 9.0% alc. and 4 g/L RS. 15.5+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $20.99
