Peter Lehmann ‘Futures’ Barossa Shiraz 2011

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 27-Jun-2014
Fruit from the north-west Barossa, fermented to 14.5% alc., including some barrel fermentation, the wine aged 15 months in French oak hogsheads. Full, dark ruby-red colour with a black-red heart, youthful in appearance. The bouquet is tight, elegant and stylish, quite up-front and primary in expression, showing dark raspberry fruit with lifted floral notes. Medium-bodied, fresh, lively and bright dark raspberry fruit flavours show some spice, floral and peppery detail. The tannins provide some robustness, but are relatively fine and are in balance with the fruit sweetness, the flavours leading to a fresh, lively finish. Enjoy for its fruitiness over the next 5-6 years. 17.5+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $33.00
