Very full, deep, black-hued purple-red colour, very youthful in appearance. The nose is firm and tightly concentrated with aromas of ripe blackberry fruit entwined with black pepper, liquorice, earth and spices, along with an aromatic, exotic stonefruit and violet floral lift. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and tightly bound with a soft-textured core of ripe black berried fruits lifted by violet and black florals and subtle, toasty oak. Fine-grained, supple tannin extraction and soft acidity forms a rounded, smooth-flowing core and line. This has sweet fruit and vibrancy, and the palate carries to a gently rich and luscious, long, lingering finish. This is a gently luscious and rich, smooth-textured, supple Syrah with vibrant and ripe black fruits with an exotic aromatic lift. Serve with Asian pork and Middle Eastern lamb dishes over the next 5-6 years. Syrah from the Central Gravels fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in new and seasoned French oak barriques, blended with 5% Viognier from the 2014 vintage. 122 cases made. 18.0+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $34.00
